L'invenzione di Hogarth riporta una scena che si svolge in un'osteria alle quattro di mattina: undici uomini attorno ad un tavolo sono raffigurati in vari stati di ebrezza. Il successo di questa precoce stampa venne alimentato anche dalla numerosa quantità di copie prodotte da altri incisori.
